This project will be located on a 106,000 square meter site at the Uptown Dubai development (formerly Burj 2020 District), next to Jumeirah Lake Towers within the Dubai Multi-Commodities Centre (DMCC) Free Zone. Construction of a 300-meter-tall tower comprising about (70) floors, including 46,700 square meters of commercial space, a 29,900-square-meter five-star hotel, 24,150 square meters of residential space, and 2,900 square meters of separate food and beverage outlets. It will be the tallest commercial tower in the world. This tower is expected to house a 360-degree observation deck on the topmost floor. Client has earmarked a lot of land in the southwest corner of Jumeirah Lakes Towers to build this tower that may end up being higher than the 541-meter One World Trade Center Tower in New York, which is currently the world's tallest commercial tower. Client is planning to issue tenders before end of 2013 for the main construction contract. Designs for the tower are still being finalised, but is likely only a few contractors would be pre-qualified to bid for the construction contract if the tower is built using steel.
