This project involves development of the Barka IWP, located adjacent to the existing Barka IWPP/IPPs near Barka in Oman. The project is about Development, financing, design, engineering, construction, ownership, operation and maintenance of an Independent Water Project (IWP) with a contracted desalination capacity of 281,000 cubic meters per day (61.8 million imperial gallons per day). Also envisaged within the scope is a new seawater intake and outfall system that will provide the raw seawater and discharge brine to the sea. The Barka IWP Plant will turn into the biggest seawater desalination plant in the Sultanate of Oman and will likewise be in the Top 10 Largest Seawater Desalination Plants Worldwide.
