Arar Domestic Airport Expansion Project
This project involves Expansion and renovation of a domestic airport with capacity to accommodate 140,000 passengers per year is at Arar in Saudi Arabia. Scope of work will also include construction of a new terminal building, administration building and a crash and fire building, a main electrical station building and all external works. Arar Domestic Airport (IATA: RAE, ICAO: OERR) is an airport serving Arar, the capital of Northern Borders Province in Saudi Arabia. The new terminal can handle 12 million passengers annually, the prince said, adding that it covers 100,000 square meters. Once the ongoing expansion is completed, the KKIA will be able to handle a total of 36 million passengers annually, three times more than the current capacity, the GACA chief said. A joint venture of Local/UKs based Group and Scott Wilson have been appointed as the project consultant for the preliminary plan. Design work is in progress.
