Al Khafji Oil Processing Facilities Project

This project is part of Saudi Arabia and KuwaitÂ’s plan to increase the divided zoneÂ’s overall production between 700,000 barrels per day (bpd) to 900,000 barrels per day (bpd) by 2030. The project plans to extend the unrefined petroleum handling offices at the seaward Khafji Oil Field in the partitioned zone between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. The preparing offices and water treatment office will fill in as framework to help the arranged Al Khafji field development. The venture incorporates 2 stages: the Offshore Associated Gas Facilities with a 24 inch, 48 Km pipeline and the Offshore Production Facilities with an a 110 Km, 12 inch distance across pipelines. The project is about Engineering, procurement, construction and expansion of oil processing facilities with production capacity from 300,000 barrels per day (bpd) to 350,000 barrels per day (bpd) at the offshore of Al Khafji Oil Field. The project Scope of work consists of expansion of crude oil offshore facilities including: - Installation of two integrated wellhead jackets - Two power distribution platforms - A main composite submarine cable - A new living quarters platform and control room - Complete refurbishment of the existing LQ and OCP platforms - Diesel storage tanks - A gas and natural gas liquids export control system - Onshore & Offshore associated gas facilities for Hout Field. The client has invited contractors to submit bids for the EPC contract. An award is anticipated by first half of 2010. Project completion is expected by 2013.
