Al Dhakhira Sewage Treatment Plant Project

  • Completed
  • Qatar
  • Sewerage & Wastewater

This project is about Engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to build a sewage treatment plant in Al-Dhakhira, Qatar. The capacity of the plant will have 56,200 cubic metres a day. The new treatment plant located on the east coast of Qatar, some 60km from Doha, will handle an average flow of 56,200 m3 per day and provide service to a population of more than 200000 residents. The project will deploy the latest technology in sewerage and wastewater treatment, using more than 35 kilometers of pipes, with peak flows (with maximum wastewater treatment) of 168000 cubic meters and a wastewater tank with capacity for 84000 cubic meters. This facility of sewage will be built dependent on sequencing clump reactor (SBR) innovation. The innovation initiates bio-oxidation by infusing air and microorganisms, and afterward settles the ooze by cutting the air supply. Along these lines, treated water can be utilized for water system in agribusiness and for finishing, and the slime can be reused into development material and manure. It is expected to be carried out in two phases using sequencing batch reactor technology. Client is planning to invite expressions of interest (EoIs) for the EPC contract by the end of August 2012. Winning bidder will build the scheme on an EPC basis and operate and maintain the project afterwards.
