Academic City Road Expansion Project - Phase 2

This project involves the second phase of extension to Academic City road in Dubai. The project incorporates with the task of Carrying out extension of 25 kilometers of road comprising four lanes in each direction. It will run from the intersection on Dubai to Al Ain highway to Yalayis road. Scope of work also entails construction of a bridge at the intersection of Academic City Road with Latifa bint Hamdan road near the entrance of Global Village for traffic coming from Emirates Road along with a signalized junction at ground level underneath the bridge. A temporary roundabout at the intersection with Al-Qudra road and another signalized junction at Hessa road, will also be constructed. The undertaking involves development of a 4-path street part broadening 25 kilometers and a scaffold at the crossing point of the Academic City Rd - Latifa bint Hamdan Road. The new street reaches out from the Dubai - Al Ain Interchange up to Al Yalayis Road, and is relied upon to be completed. The improvement of the Academic City Road venture is a piece of RTA's end-all strategy for improving streets, extensions, intersections and underpasses to adapt to the rising traffic development, and facilitate the portability in different pieces of the Emirate. The new Academic City Road will end by connecting with Al Yalayis Road, which was as of late finished by RTA, connecting the Shaikh Mohammed container Zayed Road (at Al Houdh R/A) with the Emirates Road by means of the Dubai Investment Park (DIP) in a division extending 9-km and involving 4 paths toward every path. Section and leave focuses had been accommodated the DIP just as Jumeirah Golf Estates through signalized roundabouts that are convertible at a later stage into flyovers. The scheme is due for completion by fourth quarter of 2017.
