Aviation investment projects in Oman include major terminal developments underway at Salalah and Muscat International Airports, as well as completion of four new regional airports in Sohar, Al Duqm, Ras al Hadd and Adam. Ghafari Associates, the leading architecture and construction services organization, is providing comprehensive design services for the Oman Air maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) center and is also monitoring the design contract on behalf of Oman Air and the Oman Ministry of Transportation.

Aviation investment projects represent a significant part of Oman’s total budgeted capital investments. The industry is expected to cost around $6.1 billion over five years. The traffic growth at the airports has been averaging 16%, which will increase in future. The Oman’s government decision to invest in tourism infrastructure will help investors and businesses to explore new opportunities throughout the Sultanate. This will pave the way for Oman’s aviation and related services industry to experience a tremendous boost in the coming years.
